Video of a solved problem-Mohr’s circle of inertia case-1.
The video includes a practice problem that requires finding the principal moments of inertia in the left corner of a given right-angle triangle with a width of 150mm and a height of 200mm. This is a Typical case 1 where Ix is bigger than Iy, and the product of inertia Ixy is positive.
Mohr’s circle of inertia must be used to obtain the maximum and minimum moments of inertia for the two major principal axes and their orientation with respect to the left corner point of the triangle. The video illustrates the required procedures for drawing a Mohr circle of inertia.
